Fish Life History Analysis Project (FLHAP)

The Fish Life History Analysis Project (FLHAP) analyzes fish scales and otoliths to provide estimates of age composition, natal origin, growth information and other life history data. These data provide the foundation used to generate run size forecasts, status assessment, identification of hatchery strays, and growth analyses.

FLHAP processes between 10,000 and 20,000 scales per year supporting several different projects within the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and other government and NGO partners. FLHAP also administers the ODFW scale archive, a historical repository of scale collections from around the state of Oregon.
